All the Sounds of the Earth are like Music..

OVERDUE
Music & Lyrics by Patrick Hyzy

Did you fall off the ladder, off the mark?
Did a world full of color turn to dark? Ooh..
But I won’t live in your shades of grey,
Cause you’ve got far too much to say.
So why ignore me, why throw me away?

You’re vertical, lost in the sky.
And I’m horizontal wondering why.
I’m underwhelmed, you’re overdue.

Is it some kind of shame or guilt or fear?
Keeps you close to the edge and far from here. Ooh..
I felt something, shame on me,
You turned the lock and took the key.
I would never hold you back from what you wanna be.

You’re vertical, lost in the sky.D
And I’m horizontal wondering why.
I’m underwhelmed, you’re overdue.
You’re so behind yet so prepared
I’m so courageous, always scared.
I’m underwhelmed, you’re overdue.

With involvement, expectation.
Without love you’re getting by.
Inner voices keep from failure,
Outer voices make you try.

Are you closed or unaware?
Or too tied to the cross you bare?
To see how you dropped off the earth and only reached by prayer?

You’re vertical, lost in the sky.
And I’m horizontal wondering why.
I’m underwhelmed, you’re overdue.
You’re so behind yet so prepared.
I’m so courageous, always scared.
You’re underwhelmed, I’m overdue.

And waiting for you..

I’m waiting…

NEW ORIGINAL SONG!!!!!!!! this was the first time I was able to execute a lyric like this. Usually I lose steam somewhere in the process and can’t finish it. I enjoyed multitracking on my old recorder again..

1. “Rubber Soul” by The Beatles

Some albums have changed on my list, but #1 remains the same even 5 years later. It’s my favorite album by my favorite group. I could probably write a small novel on reasons why but here are just a few..

1. Beatle harmonies are one of my favorite qualities of their music and “Rubber Soul” has 3 part vocals written in on 11 of its 14 tracks.
2. A HUGE step forward in the songwriting of the group. Gone were the days of she loves you yeah yeah yeah, now they were singing about nowhere men and a mind being opaque.
3. First consistent use of piano on a Beatles album (think of who’s writing this) and first use of the sitar on a pop song.
4. It is the only Beatles album where I like every single song without exception.

Popular songs from this album: “Drive My Car,” “Nowhere Man,” “Michelle,” and “In My Life.”

Anonymous asked: What's the longest relationship you have ever been in?

that’s a loaded question if there ever was one!

Anonymous asked: maybe you should drive over stunt?!?!

I know, it’s like picking a favorite child. Lots of great songs on stunt.

2. “Maybe You Should Drive” by Barenaked Ladies

My favorite quality of this album is how it manages to stay very smooth despite a variety of styles, tempos, and lead singers. Apparently it was an extremely difficult album to make (aren’t most of the best ones?) but whatever was going on led to a tight musical synergy that BNL hasn’t been able to match since. It’s the last album with original pianist Andy Creegan and he adds a lot of really interesting piano and electric piano lines that make several of the tracks for me.

This albums contains the popular BNL tracks “Jane” and “Alternative Girlfriend” as well as fan favorites “Am I the Only One?” “Great Provider,” and “A.”
